Four More Years: Stars And Stripes

Hurrah for Obama! Four More Years! Now he's back in The White House doing his thang, we can celebrate with all manner of things things red white and blue. From vintage inspired dresses to flag inspired nail art, there's a way for everyone to channel the USA in their wardrobe.

This cropped T makes a bold statement, easily paired with denim and metallics, available from The White Pepper for £28.00. This print just won't go out of fashion - invest!

Champion your inner 50s housewife with a bold stars and stripes inspired head band or bow, I love this one from Oh Honey Hush from her Etsy collection. It works really well with the red hair! She has many other variations in other pretty fabrics but they're all the same price, £8.97.

I've yet to try these nail wraps, but if you're a fan of nail art and are pretty clumsy with a nail brush then I think we've found the answer haven't we? These wraps are from Nail Rocks and are available for £5.99 from The Pea's Knees.

It's getting chilly. And though they're are tonnes of lightweight summer scarves out there, I've found a big old woolly one from the River Island's mens' section. The muted colours are great for autumn and winter. It rolls in at £22.00.

Rockabilly repro brand Tiger Milly bring this blue polka dot halter neck dress. Pop on your red lippy, red heels or red earrings and you're successfully a walking retro flag. A not too bad at all £44.99 and in sizes 8-22.

Feeling flush? If you've got a spare £512 lying around, then this Swarovski crystal collar will jazz up any red, white, blue, etc T-shirt in an instant. I couldn't help but include it, I'm such a magpie.
Those of us with more of a budget should be looking to this classy patriotic inspired perspex from old favourites Tatty Devine. It won't look out of place in the vintage girls' wardrobe as you probably own a tonne of bunting anyway. A much nicer price of £29.00.

All the cool kids are carrying them, and I'm constantly seeing leather versions at our vintage fairs. The rucksack reigns! Make your patriotic side heard and seen from all angles with this fabric bag at the bargain price of £17.99.

And everyone has seen those stars and stripes denim shorts, but it'd be even more special if you made your very own pair, no? We've found this easy to follow tutorial from the beauty and style blogger at
